DETECH'25, organized by Dokuz Eylül University IEEE Student Community, is one of the largest technology and engineering conferences in Turkey, and will take place from March 13-15. With the motto "Change DE World with TECH," this event will feature the latest developments in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and more.
We, as Techcareer.net, will also be present at this important event! At our special career workshop for those looking to build a career in technology, participants will have the opportunity for one-on-one interaction with industry professionals. Our Intro to Machine Learning Workshop, specifically designed for university students, provides knowledge on key topics like data analysis, algorithms, and modeling techniques. Today's guest is Ayşe Bilge Gündüz. We spoke with Bilge, a Machine Learning Engineer at Quantcast in San Francisco, about the need for gender equality in the tech ecosystem. We discussed what gender equality means and why it's an important topic for an entire podcast episode. Bilge shared her experiences, both personal and observed in the industry, to explain what sexism in the tech sector looks like. She also touched on what individuals can do to combat this issue and what communities and groups can do to help resolve it. I personally want to thank Bilge for shedding light on an aspect I wasn’t aware of. I hope this will be a useful episode for you. Enjoy listening!
