Senior Backend Developer

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer for our Vadistanbul office. You will be developing real-value features for a one-of-a-kind digital fashion platform.

Responsibilities

• Architecting and deploying web applications and services tailored for both internal and external stakeholders
• Engineering innovative products, enhancing existing features, and refining our codebase
• Crafting and coding commercial APIs and services based on product requirements
• Develop and maintain scalable, robust, and high-performing backend systems
• Ensure optimal server-side performance and troubleshooting of application bottlenecks and issues
• Design and implement data storage solutions
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and apply them to operational and product needs
• Collaborating extensively with frontend and backend teams to integrate user-facing elements with server logic
• Composing thorough tests and documentation for ongoing and future projects
• Engage in code reviews and team discussions to adopt best practices
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers
• Lead architectural discussions and design reviews

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• 5+ years of experience in building backend services for commercial web applications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Proficient in Node.js, and adept with web standards and protocols such as JavaScript & ES6, HTML, CSS, HTTP
• Solid understanding of database technologies such as MongoDB and Redis, and the ability to design efficient data structures and queries
• Proficiency in working with GraphQL and Rest APIs
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and understanding of serverless architectures
• Commitment to writing clean, well-documented code
• Experience with technologies such as ElasticSearch, Typesense, etc. is a plus
• Familiarity with JavaScript tooling (Vite, Eslint, etc.) is beneficial
• Expertise in unit/integration testing, mocking, and creating testable code
• Proficiency with Git, including branching and merging strategies
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues
• Background in web development for data-driven products is a plus
• Desirable skills include TypeScript, Next.js, SEO principles, and CI/CD processes
• Prior experience with CMS platforms like WordPress, Contentful, etc. is advantageous
• Proven track record of leading technical projects and delivering scalable solutions
