Qualifications and Job Description
Corning Optical Communication is looking for an IT Intern from relevant departments to join the IT team of the Group's Gebze-based Turkey company.We are looking for a new member for our IT team. The position will be located in Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey.
General Requirements:
- Participation in a Technical Bachelor’s Degree Program
- Able to work full time during year 2024 and 3 days/week
- Intermediate Level of English (must) – reading, writing, comprehension – Needs to be able to interact with IT colleagues and systems in English.
- Advanced local Turkish language – able to interact with all local users in Turkish if required and translate requirements into English with IT systems
- Passion to continuously learn and improve
- Application knowledge in the areas of Office suites, email applications (Outlook)
- Hardware knowledge in the areas of Personal Computers.
- General knowledge of computer networking – PC to network printer, server, etc.
- General knowledge of computer hardware – PC, Monitor, Printers
- General knowledge of mobile technology –iPhone, Android
Scope of Position:
Responsible for helping with the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of desktops and related systems. Performs all installations, upgrades and backups of S/W and H/W applications. Troubleshoots network problems when they relate to the desktop. Basic understanding of content area of function. Follows defined procedures. Proposes and implements solutions to routine problems with direction from supervisor. Refers atypical problems to others. Reports on activities regularly to supervisor in well-defined format. Gathers information and/or data independently using established and well defined procedures. Performs duties within prescribed time frames.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Acquisition, installation, maintenance and use of desktop technology.
- Respond to cases in specified support queues.
- Potential for some project work
